Mission The mission of Communications Laboratories, Inc. is to provide the U.S. and international community with secure, reliable warning and communications solutions. The vision of Comlabs is to extend warning system technology to all levels of society, from the federal tier to the individual citizen.
History Incorporated in 1985, Communications Laboratories gained prominence when the firm was awarded the contract to update, deploy and maintain the United States National Warning System, also known by the acronym NAWAS. As the current custodians of this system, Comlabs has since broadened the scope of its operations, diversifying into the arena of satellite-based warning systems technology. With the creation of the Emergency Management Network (EMnet), Comlabs has taken the independent step of digitalizing NAWAS, integrating the system with both the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and the National Weather Service (NWS). This technology has enabled Communications Laboratories to become the leading provider of EAS upgrades, forging the path for system to progress in the future.
Global Reach As Comlabs expands, the international community has increasingly become an area of focus within the company. Already providing communications solutions to more than 1,000 financial service sites throughout the world, Communications Laboratories has set its sights on Canada and areas of the Pacific to address the specific threats that concern these regions. Within the United States, Comlabs equipment is currently used in a variety of Federal Department Facilities including the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and the National Weather Service. Our solutions are also used in every state and county Emergency Operations Center (EOC), nearly every nuclear facility and hundreds of radio and television broadcasters throughout the nation. Additionally, Comlabs' Emergency Management Network is currently being used in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Illinois and Washington State.
